2017-2018 HAPPENINGS
We learned to write a haiku! A haiku is a traditional form of Japanese poetry. Consists of 3 lines; the first and last have 5 syllables and the middle line has 7 syllables. Is typically about nature, but not always. Attempts to capture a mood or feeling.
Hello All!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that we now have some published authors in our building!! ALL of the students who submitted poems were selected for publication! We will be receiving a complimentary copy of the poetry book sometime. I'm hoping it will come before the end of the school year so that each student can share their poem with their classmates and others in the building! If you haven't had a chance to look, I did display their poems outside the Media doors on the wall. Please come read them if you get a minute. I would like all of the students who were part of the Poetry Group to meet in the Media Center quickly at 12:00 Thursday if possible. I want to take a group picture as well as give them their letters to take home to their parents. Thanks All, Stacey |
