
CLASS OF 2025 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
Wayne Brown (Coach) - Coaching responsibilities at Alliance included boys’ basketball 1975-1977. Girls basketball 1977-1981 which was the start up years for girls’ basketball in Nebraska. Boys golf 1977-2007 with a state title in 1979 and a third-place finish in 2001. District titles in 1977 and 1979 with four runners-ups. Western Conference: 1st, 1979, 1989, 1999, 1997, 2000. Runner-up six times. Girls golf 1977-2006. Start up for the girls’ team in Alliance. Girls golf participated in nine state tournaments. Best finish was 1979, 6th place. One district: championship in 1979. Western conference: 1 championship in 1985 and four runners-up finishes. Academic All-State Players; 18 girls and 16 boys. Taught in the middle school math department 1975-76, the high school math department 1976-2007.
Collin Cox -Class of 2015 (Performer) - During his time at Alliance High School, Collin led multiple victories in regional, district, and state competitions for vocal and acting performances. Collin secured the Class B State Championship title in One-Acts and was awarded the title for Best Male Performer in 2012. Collin was a finalist and champion in multiple NSAA State Speech competitions for oral interpretation of drama, humorous prose, and duet acting from 2012-2015. He participated in numerous extra-curricular activities, from serving as the President of the AHS National Honor Society to starring in lead musical roles, earning multi-year superior ratings in district vocal performance, and winning the 2015 Stars of Tomorrow competition with Christa Horn. Collin also participated in a nonprofit show choir group called ‘Rendezvous,’ which was selected to compete in the national FAME show choir competition in Hollywood, California in 2012. After graduating from Alliance High School, Collin went on to earn two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s in public administration from the University of Kansas, where he received a university award in leadership and academic excellence, and served as the VicePresident for the KU Board of Class Officers. In May 2025, Collin graduated from Florida State University with his Ph.D. in public administration and now serves as an adjunct professor in the Askew School of Public Administration and Policy.
Larry Johnson -Class of 1956 (Athlete) - Larry was named the Top Athlete in 1956. He was active in Football, Basketball, Track and Baseball. He was the co-captain of the basketball team and a member of A-Club. Larry was part of the 1955 State Championship team. He continued his career in the United State Air Force and then Kearney State College. Larry settled into coaching for 40+ years. He volunteered at the Nebraska State Track meet for 46 years!
Brittany Lurz -Class of 2007 (Athlete) - Brittany was a four-year starter and letter winner in Basketball. She was named All-Conference, Academic All-State, Honorable Mention All-State, All-Region, and to the State Tournament team. She played in the State Tournament, Panhandle All-Star game, and the NCA All-Star game. She was also an outstanding softball player earning two letters. She was named All-Conference, Honorable Mention All-Region and All-State. Brittany also lettered in track two years.
Bryan Wilson -Class of 1982 (Athlete) - Bryan was a runner up in the 1981 State Wrestling Tournament and the Champion in the 1982 State Wrestling Tournament. Bryan went on to compete with the Nebraska Contingent Wrestling team where he competed in Mexico and Venezuela. He then wrestled for Northwest College and then Wyoming where he won a WAC Championship in 1986. Bryan eventually returned to Alliance where he spent over 35 years volunteering at various levels of the Alliance Wrestling Program!
