Best of the West

The Alliance Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter has recently competed in the Best of the West Business Challenge on the Chadron State College campus. On January 30, 2019, there were 109 students that represented Alliance, Arthur County, Bridgeport, Chadron, Hay Springs, Hemingford, and Ogallala schools at the Best of the West Competition. There were eight different events occurring that day that students had registered and studied for during the previous several months. The results were as follows:
Business Calculations: Jensen Curtiss - 1st Colby Burri - 2nd
Business Communications: Eric Pollack - 2nd Magi Hoff - 5th
Introduction to Business: Kelsey Horton - 3rd
Introduction to FBLA: Kelsey Horton - st
Personal Finance: Isabella Middleton - 1st Jensen Curtiss - 3rd
Brionna Schafer - 4th
Overall, the Alliance FBLA took first place with 64 points beating out Chadron who earned 62 points. Hemingford came in third with 54 points overall. It was a great day to be a Bulldog!!
High School Business Department
Student Teacher: Kelsey Towne
The Alliance High School business department has a new member. Kelsey Towne, a native of Hemingford, and Chadron State College student has joined our team as a student teacher this year. She is working with both Mrs. Brigit Harris and Mrs. Brandy Stark. She will be working with Introduction to Business, MoneyWise, Information Technology II, and Digital Media students. Please help us to welcome, Ms. Kelsey Towne to Alliance High School.
