The National Honor Society Chapter also participated in making wire spiders and sold them for $5 a piece. The proceeds from these spiders were donated to Bailey Vogel, daughter of Roxie Smith, a beloved English teacher at the high school. NHS raised $355 dollars to be given to Vogel in addition to a chemo care-kit. The kit included eye drops, plastic silverware, snacks, mints, a coloring book and colored pencils, lotion and a hat.

Last, the NHS members put together craft packets for the residents of Highland Park during their Christmas party. They took the packets to the nursing home and walked around the outside of the facility to wish the residents a Merry Christmas. It was great to see all the waves and smiling faces!!

After meeting and learning about CAPStone, the Alliance Chapter of National Honor Society decided to make tie blankets to donate. CAPStone is a child advocacy center that children go to when they are victimized or abused. The blankets made by The National Honor Society will be given to children while they are being interviewed and they will be able to take the blankets with them wherever they go.
