The district had previously advertised via postcard a special tax hearing on September 20th at 6:00 p.m. at the high school PAC. This was a mandated hearing the school needed to run based on the projection of needing to exceed a 2.2% increase. We have received a correction and with the new information we are happy to announce we will not be required to hold this meeting. The total asking value will not exceed the 2.2% number. The asking rate which the school district has not changed in over 10 years will actually drop by close to 5 cents. We will still be able to maintain our projection of paying off all debts by 2025, including the Performing Arts Center.
The district will run a special meeting on September 25th at 7:00 in the boardroom of the administration building. Two hearings will be run to hear support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers on both the budget and the tax request before the board takes action on the agenda items.
